| FIGHTING TIGER WOMEN'S CAGERS DEFEAT GALLAUDET 55-29
WASHINGTON, D.C.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team ended a two-game skid on Sunday afternoon by defeating the Bison of Gallaudet University by a 55-29 margin in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The victory improves the Fighting Tigers to 9-7 overall on the season to date with a 6-3 mark in NEAC play while Gallaudet falls to 3-12 overall and 1-8 in league play.

The Fighting Tiger defense feasted on Bison throughout the contest as Cobleskill held the home team to a paltry 7-of-47, 14.9%, from the field including only 2-of-25 from the field in the second half. Cobleskill forced the Bison into 20 turnovers in the game and blocked nine shots on the afternoon.
With injuries limiting the team's available roster, senior forward Chelcy Moore, Albany, N.Y., Albany High School, went to work on both ends of the floor scoring a game high 14 points to go with six rebounds and six blocked shots. Senior guards Brittany Britt, Brooklyn, N.Y., Bedford Academy, and Victoria Carter, Monticello, N.Y., Monticello High School, were also impressive in the win as Britt scored 10 points, took down three rebounds and passed out two assists while Carter had nine points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals. The visitors also received a strong effort off the bench from freshman forward/guard Tracee Schiebel, Vernon, N.Y., Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, with 10 points and seven rebounds in a reserve role.
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday January 27 when they host Wells College beginning at 3:00 p.m.

| SUNY COBLESKILL WOMEN'S INDOOR TRACK AT WESLEYAN INVITE

MIDDLETOWN, CONN: The SUNY Cobleskill women's indoor track & field team returned to action after their winter break on Saturday at the 2012 Wesleyan University Invitational. The Fighting Tigers shook some of the winter rust off at the event returning with five New York State College Track Conference (NYSCTC) Championship qualifying efforts from the meet.
Sophomore sprinter Africa Harper, Bronx, N.Y., John F. Kennedy High School, led the way for Cobleskill placing second in the 200-meter dash in 27.19 to meet the NYSCTC automatic qualifying mark in the event while placing seventh overall in the 400-meter dash in a time of 1:02.73 to meet the league's provisional qualifying standard in the event. Senior jumper Shorna Brown, Kingston, N.Y., Kingston High School, also met the league's automatic qualifying standard in the high jump clearing 5'1 ¾" good for a second place finish.
The team also received NYSCTC provisional qualifying efforts form sophomore multi-athletic Beth Watson, Dansville, N.Y., Dansville High School, who placed 15th in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.74 seconds and form sophomore thrower Rebecca Brower, Mayfield, N.Y., Mayfield High School, who finished ninth in the shot put with a toss of 31' 7 ¾".
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Friday January 27th and Saturday January 28th when they travel to Boston, Mass. to compete at the 2012 Harrier Invitational hosted Boston University.

| FIGHTING TIGER MEN RETURN TO ACTION AT 2012 WESLEYAN INVITE

MIDDLETOWN, CONN.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's indoor track & field team returned to action on Saturday at the 2012 Wesleyan University Invitational. The Fighting Tigers started to shake off the winter rust by posting a New York State College Track Conference (NYSCTC) Championship qualifying performance at the event.
Sophomore distance runner Conor Cashin, Albany, N.Y., Voorheesville High School, met the NYSCTC Provisional Qualifying Standard in the mile run by placing seventh in the event with a time of 4:31.18 as the Fighting Tiger distance corps turned in the team's top performances at the meet with sophomore Geoff Hall, Van Etten, N.Y., Spencer-Van Etten High School, bringing home an eighth place finish in the 5000-meter run in a time of 16:40.19 and sophomore Josh Miller, Walkersville, M.D., Walkersville High School, placing ninth overall in the mile run with a time of 4:38.81.
The Fighting Tigers 4 X 400-meter relay of: sophomore Theo Cato, St. Albans, Campus Magnet High School, sophomore Melique Garcia, Watervliet, N.Y., Watervliet High School, sophomore Namib Harris, Huntington Station, N.Y., Walt Whitman High School, and freshman Miguel Paulino, Bronx, N.Y., Kingstride Academy, also cracked the top 10 at the event placing eighth in a time of 3:40.49.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Friday January 27th and Saturday January 28st when they travel to Boston, Mass. to compete at the 2012 Harrier Invitational hosted Boston University beginning at 4:00 p.m.

| FIGHTING TIGER MEN STAMPEDED BY GALLAUDET BISON 87-67

WASHINGTON, D.C.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of a 87-67 score versus the Bison of Gallaudet University on Sunday in North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) play. The loss drops the visiting Fighting Tigers to 1-16 overall on the year including a 1-6 conference record while the Bison move to 8-9 overall with a 6-3 mark in NEAC action.
The Fighting Tigers once again came out of the gate slowly falling behind by a score of 35-24 at the have to the home team. Cobleskill was outrebounded 45-26 on the day giving Gallaudet 16 offensive rebounds which led to 22 points.
Senior point guard Brendan Doherty, Binghamton, N.Y., Binghamton High School/Broome Community College, was the team's top scorer with 21 points while freshman guard Alexis Nunez, White Plains, N.Y., White Plains High School, and senior swingman Clint Foster, Candor, N.Y., Candor High School, each hit for 12 points.
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday January 27 when they host Wells College for a NEAC game beginning at 4:00 p.m.
